⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Adventures of Supernova de Loutherbergh is a new solo play written and performed by Robyn Hunter. It runs at theSpace on the Mile until tomorrow (12th) only with tickets at £10.
The audience meets the titular character, Nova who is struggling to deal with the unexpected death of her mother and many other issues within her seemingly dysfunctional family. The show is bookended by a voicemail message from her mum which at the start is repeated and each time suddenly stopped until the ending is finally revealed at the play’s poignant conclusion.
Hunter’s writing for this short 50 minute piece is captivating throughout, it is often hilarious, but also often shifts into moments of despair as more about Nova’s mysterious past is revealed to us. Hunter’s own performance is stellar as she quickly wins the audience over. This performance is complimented by a series of voiceovers from Hunter herself as well as others, these allow for the world of the play to be fleshed out further than what the audience sees.
I really recommend this show to everyone, but act quickly with only one performance left.
